For the past two months Memorial’s Behavioral Health program was temporarily suspended for updates and renovations. The goal of these improvements was to create an even more therapeutic environment by updating the rooms in the Unit and providing training for the staff. We are happy to announce that the Unit is open once again and pleased that we are offering an even better environment for these patients who have unique health care needs.

This morning for two hours, southbound Telshor traffic was down to one lane as a crew hoisted more than 6,600 lbs of brand new MRI equipment into Memorial Medical Center’s Imaging Department.  The new $1.6 million GE Telsa MRI is the first of its kind in the region and, along with construction of the new MRI suite, represents a $3 million investment in advanced technology at Memorial.

Colon cancer is one of most preventable forms of cancer when detected early, and one of the most deadly forms of cancer when left undetected. Beginning at age 50, the American College of Gastroenterology recommends getting screened for colon cancer at least every 10 years.
