Volunteer at Memorial Medical Center
Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary
Founded in 1951 as part of the Women’s Improvement Association to serve the first Memorial General Hospital on Alameda Street, the current membership of nearly 100 Auxilians contributes tens of thousands of volunteer hours annually in designated hospital areas; members also conduct hospital tours and serve on the bi-monthly blood drive committee. The Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary has received statewide honors for their service areas. The Auxiliary raises funds through their gift shop and vending areas.
The Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary Gift Shop - located next to the main hospital lobby—provides a wealth of interesting and unique gifts for all ages, as well as snacks, flowers, personal care items, and greeting cards. Operated by the Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary, the shop is open from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. In recent years, the Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary Gift Shop was named Best Gift Shop in the Las Cruces Sun-News Reader’s Choice Awards.
Annually the Auxiliary donates the following:
- Over $100,000 in healthcare scholarships to local students.
- Over $20,000 to healthcare and community not for profit programs.
