At Memorial Medical Center, we are devoted to helping patients heal mentally and emotionally by providing exceptional, evidence-based behavioral healthcare that improves the lives of those needing support.

Our 12-bed behavioral health unit provides dedicated, inpatient care for adults age 18-65. Our unit offers 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and crisis support.

To contact the Behavioral Health Unit, please call 575.521.2215. Due to patient confidentiality, callers will be asked for a unique ID number that is provided to every patient on our Behavioral Health Unit.

Inpatient Services

Patients will receive compassionate and comprehensive mental healthcare, in a safe and therapeutic setting.

Services include:

• Crisis stabilization
• 24/7 clinical support from licensed behavioral health professionals
• 24/7 medically staffed environment for continuous patient monitoring
• Medication management
• Individual therapy
• Group counseling
• Discharge planning
• Recreational therapy

What We Treat

Treatment is individualized to each person's needs and delivered with compassion by a care team of experienced professionals. We treat a wide range of mental health concerns including, among other things:

• Depression
• Stress
• Anxiety
• Irritability/Agitation
• Psychosis
• Thoughts of harm to self or others

Admission Criteria

Adults 18-65 experiencing the following may be eligible:

• Feelings of loneliness, worthlessness or hopelessness
• Thoughts of harm to self or others
• Depression and anxiety
• False beliefs, paranoia and/or delusional thoughts
• Auditory and visual hallucinations
• Prolonged emotional issues after a major life event
• Behavioral changes related to medications
• Excessive isolation
• Difficulty managing daily activities due to mental health concerns
• Increase or decrease in appetite or sleep
• Trouble concentrating
