Room service operator.
How long have you worked here at Memorial Medical Center?
3 years.
How did you come into this position?
I began as a PRN ambassador and I was offered a room service operator position.
What was your motivation for a career in healthcare?
I enjoy being of service to people and interacting with our patients.
What is a typical day like for you?
My day consists of taking meal orders for the patients and also entering supplements and tube-feed orders for patients. I also ensure that all patients receive the appropriate meals according to physician orders. I am also in the role of team leader.
How would you describe your role’s responsibilities?
Checking patient’s orders, overseeing staff and helping in any way that I can.
In what areas do you help patients?
I help patients by guiding them with their meal choices and encouraging them to eat healthy. I also provide basic information on the diet the doctor has placed.
What are some of your interests outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially during family game nights. I also enjoy playing softball and volleyball. I am also a dog mom and enjoy going for walks and all the cuddles.
What is your favorite part about working for Memorial Medical Center?
My co-workers. They make work more enjoyable, and I look forward to seeing everyone. They have become my extended family.
