Registered nurse with the float pool.
How long have you worked here at Memorial Medical Center?
Hired in 1999, left to University Medical Center and returned in 2017.
How did you come into this position?
It is a perfect position for me. In 21 years, I have worked med-surg, telemetry, endoscopy and 10 years in the ER. The float pool was offered to me when I applied to come back to MMC in 2017.
What was your motivation for a career in healthcare?
I have always considered myself a caregiver since I was young. Being a nurse is a dream come true. I truly love being a nurse.
What is a typical day like for you?
Being available for my patients when they need help or assistance through the entire shift. I try to make an effort to help fulfill their goals for the day.
How would you describe your role’s responsibilities?
I describe myself as dedicated and proud to provide my patients with the best care possible.
In what areas do you help patients?
I help all my patients in each and every area needed.
What are some of your interests outside of work?
I happen to have a family that enjoys spending time together. I have grandchildren that I enjoy taking care of on my days off, including a set of twins born two months ago.
What is your favorite part about working for Memorial Medical Center?
I have worked at Memorial for long time. I am confident enough to approach any member of management, including human resources, with any concern or complaint knowing they will hear what I have to say. I think everyone is recognized for the hard work and dedication for the most part. I think Memorial Medical Center is the best hospital in town.
