Memorial Medical Center COO Mary Armijo Receives ACHE Regent’s Award

(EL PASO, TX - December 8, 2023) – Mary Armijo, MBA, MS CIS, FACHE, PMP, Chief Operating Officer of Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award at the Southwest Healthcare Executives Association holiday event in El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday night.
The award recognizes experienced ACHE members who have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.
Members are evaluated on leadership ability; innovative and creative management; executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community; contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession; leadership in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities; and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.
Armijo has served as Chief Operating Officer at MMC since 2020. Prior to this, she served as Associate Administrator at Upper Peninsula Health System in Marquette, Mich.
Armijo is a Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence. She is also a member of the Project Management Institute; is a board member for the Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation; and serves as the Chair for Lifepoint Health’s Unidos Hispanic Employee Resource Group.
Armijo received her Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland. She then earned her Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and her MBA in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University.
