Southern New Mexico Family Medicine Residency Program Welcomes Resident Class of 2029

(May 5, 2026 – Las Cruces, NM) – The Southern New Mexico Family Medicine Residency Program (SNMFMRP) and Memorial Medical Center are very proud to introduce and celebrate the incoming Resident Class of 2029, a talented group of eight physicians who will begin their graduate medical education journey in Las Cruces in June 2026.
The new class will be embarking on a rigorous three-year program designed to deepen medical knowledge, refine clinical skills, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to the community. The residency program strives to transform healthcare education and delivery to be socially responsible and eliminate health disparities throughout New Mexico.
This year’s residency Match Day marked a historic milestone as the 75th Match cycle and the largest on record, with 53,373 applicants nationwide. The SNMFMRP once again attracted significant interest, receiving 1,525 applications.
The Graduate Medical Education (GME) department conducted an extensive selection process, interviewing 75 candidates for these highly-sought-after Family Medicine positions.
