Employee Spotlight: Marcie Fredericksen Inducted Into Las Cruces Bowling Hall Of Fame
September 19, 2025
MMC is proud to celebrate one of our own, Marcie Fredericksen, who was recently introduced as the newest member of the Las Cruces United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Hall of Fame 2025.
Marcie has been an avid bowler for over the last 30 years, earning countless accomplishments along the way. She was named the 2019 Women’s Bowler of the Year and finished second in 2024. In the 2023 LCUSBC Open Tournament, she took first place in both Singles and All Events. Over the years, she has competed in at least four USBC Women’s Championships and seven USBC Open Championships, as well as numerous local and state tournaments. She has also been a proud member of the Ristas and The Crew, clubs within the Women’s and Mixed International Bowling Associations, for more than a decade.
For Marcie, bowling is more than a sport, it’s a family tradition.
“I’ve been bowling for over 30 years, and I got into bowling because of my mom,” she shared. “When I moved down here, she was bowling at the time, and she got me involved. My sisters were involved, my father was involved, and now my kids are involved. It’s all a family event. You meet so many different people traveling to tournaments in different states, it’s really a great bowling community.”
Beyond her recognition on the lanes, Marcie has been a vital part of MMC for the past 19 years, serving as the hospital’s Payroll Generalist.
When she first started at MMC, Marcie admits she was quiet and preferred staying behind the scenes. Over time, though, her role in Human Resources has helped her grow.
“I was a very quiet person when I first started. Working in human resources has opened me up a little bit. I’m able to communicate better with people now, and I really enjoy helping them.”
She credits much of that growth to her supportive HR team.
“I love my team. We’ve been together so long, and I’m still the baby of the group,” Marcie laughed. “It is great to be surrounded by a team of people who have been here for so long.”
One of the things she values most about working at MMC is seeing others grow within the hospital.
“It’s great to see people who started off in different departments transition into other roles and continue to grow within the company,” she said.
When it comes to bowling, Marcie says her teammates’ encouragement keeps her going, especially on tough days.
“Sometimes you get down because you’re not bowling very well, but teammates will invite me to tournaments, encourage me, and even help with advice on the lanes. That support means a lot.”
Whether she’s making a difference for MMC employees or striking down pins on the lanes, Marcie’s dedication, positivity, and passion shine through. Congratulations to her on this well-deserved honor!
