Speech Therapy
What Is Speech Therapy?
Speech therapy involves the evaluation and treatment of disorders related to speech, swallowing and communication. Upon the referral of a physician, licensed speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work with patients to address cognitive and motor disabilities, helping to restore essential functions. This care often includes the development of supplementary language systems through augmentative communication devices and provides vital education for both patients and their families.
Our Speech Therapy Services
SLP services provide daily assessment and treatment for a wide range of conditions, including:
- Childhood speech and language disorders
- Developmental delays
- Fluency and stuttering
- Neurological impairments
- Swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
- Tracheostomy support (assessment for Passy-Muir speaking valve)
- Verbal and written communication
The primary goal of these services is to help patients regain the ability to communicate clearly and swallow safely.
