We firmly believe that nobody should have to leave Las Cruces to get quality healthcare. This is why we have worked to have a Level III NICU right here at Memorial. Since the beginning of this year, we have recruited 16 new physicians to Las Cruces, each of whom was selected for their quality, experience and fit with our community healthcare needs.

I attended the graduation celebration of our 2015 Class of Residents on Saturday, June 20th. This fine group of physicians has been well-trained under the leadership of Dr. John Andazola, Southern New Mexico Family Medicine Residency Program Director. It was a special time to share the culmination of years of education and hard work as we send these new doctors out into the world. In 1996, Memorial established the residency program to train much-needed family doctors in hopes that they would stay in the area. I am very happy to report that 4 of the 6 graduates will be practicing in New Mexico.
