Memorial Medical Center is proud to announce the availability of exercise rehabilitation for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). This is a unique and individualized program tailored to individual participant’s strengths and even limitations. The exercise is performed to the patient’s tolerance and improved each session.
PAD symptoms can include leg numbness or weakness, painful cramping in one or both of your hips, thighs, or calf muscles after certain activities such as walking or climbing stairs, sores on your toes or feet that don’t seem to heal and skin that is cool to the touch in your lower leg or foot.
Exercise rehabilitation for PAD typically lasts 36 sessions over 12 weeks and will last approximately 30-60 minutes. All rehabilitation exercised are supervised by a Registered Nurse and are overseen by a Physician.
Exercise rehabilitation is a team effort and it is for this reason we will discuss all aspects of care from medication regimens, dietary routines, and access to community resources and offer opportunities for improvement in a non-judgmental and realistic approach. This program is also an excellent opportunity to surround yourself with others’ that have gone through similar experiences which many of our members find very therapeutic.
Please talk to your doctor if you are interested in joining our exercise rehabilitation program. Most insurance plans partially or fully cover the cost of this service, all you need is a referral!
NOTE: In order to protect our patients, please bring your COVID-19 vaccination card with you to your first appointment.
