October 1, 2013 – Memorial Medical Center has delivered more babies than any other hospital in Southern New Mexico and now its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), is able to care for more babies than before. Two years ago, the NICU kept on average 2 babies per day. Today, an average of ten babies are staying at the MMC NICU, due to expansion and a new Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
August 8, 2013—Employees from Memorial Medical Center and LCPS joined forces Tuesday morning, August 7, 2013 to load nearly four hundred backpacks filled with school supplies that will go to economically disadvantaged students to help them get a strong start in the 2013-14 school year.
July 23, 2013—The Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department and Memorial Medical Center have launched an educational awareness program to help people live a healthier lifestyle with diabetes.
“Nuestra Vida” began in January 2013 and is expected to continue until February 2014. The initial vision of the pilot program began two years ago, motivated by health promotoras in Doña Ana County’s rural communities where diabetics in Doña Ana County were having trouble finding health-related information on living with diabetes.
