September 12, 2012— Memorial Medical Center received full accreditation as a Chest Pain Center from the Society of Chest Pain Centers on August 22.
This accreditation means that MMC has demonstrated a high level of expertise in caring for patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack. Patients receive necessary treatment in the crucial 90 minute door-to-balloon time frame, reducing the chances of damage to the heart muscle.
MMC Ikard Radiation Oncology Earns ACR-ASTRO Accreditation
April 19, 2012 — Memorial Medical Center’s Ikard Radiation Oncology has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in radiation oncology American College of Radiology (ACR) and The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).
Ikard Radiation Oncology is the only accredited facility in southern New Mexico and one of only two in the state to be fully accredited. According to the ACR, only 10% of Radiation Oncology facilities are accredited in the United States.
“This confirms to cancer patients in Las Cruces, Southern New Mexico, and El Paso, that they can receive state of the art, high-quality radiation therapy treatment, right here, in their own community” Ikard’s Chief Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Cherie Hayostek said.
MMC celebrates National Home Care Month
November 16, 2011 – Memorial Home Health observed National Home Care Month in November with a celebratory breakfast November 15 for all their Team Members.
This year, the 45 Team Members at Memorial Home Health have already traveled over 152,000 miles to see patients in Dona Ana County. The Home Health Team consists of nurses, physical therapists, physical therapy aide, occupational therapist, speech and language pathologist, home care aide, social workers and the office staff.
